Week Five Reflection

Hi again & assalammualaikum.

Now, a reflection for Week Five before we go on with our holiday. Yes, you heard me, holiday ! Well, not much of a holiday if you ask me. So many assignments to catch up with but I'll try my best to finish it all by the time I go back to UPSI.

Okay, what happened in Week Five ? Nothing much, just any other ordinary week like the previous weeks. In Madam Nadiah's class this week, we received our next assignment, which is a self-banner. We have to promote ourselves, sharing our interests and dislikes with our friends, promoting yourself, that's what it is. I don't mind about the writing part because to me it's quite easy. I find writing spoken English is not so difficult but neither do I think writing formal English is hard. Nevertheless, I love writing, especially when I have ideas.

What turns me off is the designing part, which is required, which is compulsory, which is mandatory....
I have to design the banner, to promote myself. So yes, a big no, no for me. Yet, I'll try best again. Just like I did with the prezi. I'm doing quite well with the blog so that's a good thing.

I just hope I could catch up to everything during the holidays because I don't feel quite well as I usually do.
InsyaAllah, amin.

Week Four Reflection

Well, well, well, it is already week four, how time files ! So fast isn't it ? I can't believe it myself. So this is week four's reflection. Let see what happened shall we ?

As usual, I had Writing for The Multimedia & The Web class with Madam Nadiah last Monday. It is week four, and it is the week where we were to present our prezi presentation to the whole class. So yeah, presentation...

I was quite nervous to say the least, I prepared notes but it wasn't much of a help either because I tend to babble on my own when I'm actually in front presenting. I was the fourth to present my prezi that day, it was nerve wrecking but I did it anyway.

During the presentation, I kept repeating the word 'facts' because my topic was Cause & Effect Essay, which needs lots of facts in the making. I felt a bit foolish because as if I was stuck and completely blank ! As if I don't have anything else to say, and I keep using flood as an example when I elaborated on the topic. Hmmphh ! A bit disappointed but in the end Madam Nadiah seemed quite satisfied with my presentation. So, yeayy !

Now that the prezi presentation is over, I can't wait to proceed to the next one. Hopefully it will be fun and easy and not complicated. Hopefully....

Week Three Reflection

Hi everyone and assalammualaikum. So for today's entry, I have to write a reflection based on Writing for Multimedia & Web course. And this post is one of the requirements of this blog. As you know, this blog is one of my assignments. I know it's weird but it is also fun so, no complaints there.

Now, moving on. This is already Week 3, woww how time files ! During the 3 weeks, I'd been doing so many assignments given by Madam Nadiah Yan, she is our lecturer for this course. By the way, I would like to say, seeing her again this semester is great but knowing that she will be teaching us this subject and in a fun way was quite surprising for me. Well, I never knew she had a fun side, hee. But yes, it's good to see her again. So she told us to start with our first assignment which is a prezi presentation. We have to select one essay genre and present it in a prezi. This is due next week, Week 4. So I did just that, I chose Cause & Effect essay because well, I love facts. I'm not a story person and I'm not so good with describing things especially if I don't have any ideas and are completely blank. Thus, Narrative & Descriptive essay is a no, no for me.

At first it was a bit hard for me because I lack creativity. So, for me, things that require creativity is difficult for me. But I tried my best and do it anyway. Assignments have to be finished on time. I do not want to procrastinate. So I gathered all of my sources and contents that I need and finish my prezi. When I'm done with that, Madam Nadiah told us to proceed with our Blog and also Karaoke Video, another assignments that we have to do. Ohh yes, I forgot to mention that this course doesn't have any final exams so guess what ? There are 7 courseworks ! Yeayy ! Like seriously, yeayy ...

Now, continuing with the blog thing, yes what I'm doing now is blogging so no need to explain about that. For the Karaoke Video assignment, basically we have to have a group and then find a song and shoot a video for it. Then do some editing to it and turn it into a karaoke video ! Easier said that done right ? Yes, I'm looking forward to it.

So, that is all for Week 3 and for my first reflection. Hope you enjoy reading it. Thanks ! :)

My Friends

Hi again! So, in the previous posts, I’ve wrote about myself and my family. Today, I’m going to continue with my friends. Now I won’t say I don’t have any friends at all but I don’t own many either. It’s not that I don’t like befriending people, it’s just people nowadays are difficult to be trusted. You know, the back stabbing thing, I thought we were friends, I can’t believe you can do this, bla bla bla ..

Never mind, forget I ever said that. Okay, friends, focus ! I have a few that I adore and love so much. I have two childhood friend that I still keep in touch until this very day. They are Sara Hanum and Nur Ain. These two are my very good friends. Sara Hanum, this young lady is as same age as me. We met when we were in Year 3 in primary school. Since then we have become best friends. We’re like sisters. She was born a day earlier before me, so the more reason for us to be closer to each other. While I further my studies in UPSI, she continued hers in UIA. Though we were separated, yet our friendship still stands strong.  Even though I’m quite a bad tempered person, Sara never cares about it. She will always be there for me, trying to cheer me up whenever she can. That’s why I love her so much.

The next friend would be Nur Ain, She’s also the same age as me and currently she is studying in Uniten. This girl is quite chubby but also cute and adorable. Her bubbly face matches her fun personality which makes me adores her so much. She never fails to entertain me with her sense of humor. Plus, she’s my shopping buddy. Whenever we can, we will go shopping together. If we don’t have money to shop, we will just do window shopping instead. Ahh I hate that so much ! Hee hee ~ Just like Sara, she will always be there for me when I needed her. She has her own way of cooling me down when I’m angry. What she’ll do is she’ll hug from the back and will not let go until I calm down. I never hated it but I never like it so much either because it suffocates me, hahaha. But I’m touched that she would go to that extend just to calm me down. Awwwhh ~

So that’s about it, about my two best friends. People always say you can’t have more than one best friend. Who says ? Forget that and go get yourself a bunch of best friends. Choww !

My Family

My Family. Yes, the title says it all. When talking about family the first thing that pops out in our mind is our parents, our mom, our dad and our siblings. Same goes to me. I think about them all the time. So let's begin shall we ?

Let's start with my Dad. His full name is Abdul Rahim bin Rashid. He was born in 16th October 1967. Opss.. I just revealed his age, Shhh.... It's our little secret okay ? Wait, how can this be a secret if I'm publishing this for the public to read ? Silly me.. Hehehe. Okay he's 46 years old this year. He's originally from Segamat, Johor. He was born there, raised there, everything there. When he was 18, he managed to further his studies in Texas. He majored in Engineering and now he's working as a Production Manager in a company named Reckitt Benkiser in Johor Bahru. He's a very technical person. He loves and have all sorts of gadgets but his favorite would be from Apple. Ohh yeah, he's an animal lover too. I remember all the pets we used to have in the house. We started with gold fish and Koi. Next we have cats, so, so, so, so many cats. My Dad just loves them so much. Then for quite some time, my Dad bought snakes to be kept as pets. Yes, you heard me, snakes. Not just those plain snakes, but pythons. I remembered him breeding those pythons until he had almost 30 of them, But when he moved to Johor Bahru due to his work, he decided to sell them all because he couldn't afford to look after them. Hmm.. But now, we have 2 lovely Persian cats. A big one and a small one. Haha. What more can I tell you about my dad, nothing I guess. My Dad is a simple person. He likes everything simple. Ahh yes ! I got my temper from him. Hee hee ~

Next is my Mom. NoorLiza binti Hassan is her full name. She's the same age as my Dad too. And she also went to the same university as my Dad which is in Texas. But she majored in Economics instead. Though she studied economics, yet her current career is a Lecturer. An English Lecturer to be exact. Yes, I'm studying English because of her. My love for English was inspired by her. I remembered her teaching me English lullabies. One of them was the famous Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, you know that don't you ? Hee Hee. Unlike my Dad, my Mom is not a fan of gadgets. She's a fan of books. She just loves to read a lot. Well what do you expect, she's an educator. Most educators will read. Her favorite genre would be romance. Err.. But we all got the idea, she loves to read. Fullstop. My Mom is a fun person. She likes to talk a lot and is not scared to speak up whenever she feels like she has to. She loves to pamper her children with food. Though she rarely cooks now due to her illness, but still she will buy me and my siblings good food to eat. My Mom is also a caring person. She could be confusing sometimes but she will always be my loving mother.

I'll be continuing with my little sister now. Let's see.. Her name is Nur Diyana. She's two years younger than me. That means she's 17 this year. Yeahh sweet 17, wait.. isn't it supposed to be sweet 16 ? What am I babbling about ? Haihh.. sorry for that. Now my sister, okay. What can I say, she's a brilliant young lady. She has beaten me up in almost everything especially in academics. That's right. She does well in school. All the teachers love her as she excelled in everything. And of course this made our parents proud too. Among our siblings, she can be considered as the golden child. She has the looks and the brain. Boo hoo me ! I'm so jealous of her. Haihh.. But I have to admit, I am proud to have her as a sister. Diyana, or Yan for short, that's what I called her at home, but everyone else calls he Ana because it suits her sweet face. Yet she hated it because she thinks she's not sweet at all. Now this sister of mine likes to read a lot. She has an amazing collections of books. Her room is her library. Her favorite genre would be adolescent fiction. You can call it story books, but they are not like those typical story books. Her collections are different, hers are way more that just a story. It's beyond your imagination actually. The story books I mean. You have to see it for yourself, only then will you understand what I'm trying to describe. Haha.

Last but not least is my little brother. The name given is Muhammad Kamal. Now this boy here is 13 years old. Yes, he just entered secondary school this year. My brother here is not like any other ordinary boy. He has a mental disability called autism. That means he is autistic. Yes, it is sad but fortunately his condition is not too bad compared to those who has down syndrome. So I'm grateful for that. One interesting fact about my little brother is that he doesn't eat rice, yet he is taller and bigger than I am ! How can this be ??? Haha, maybe it's because he has my Dad's genetic, my Dad is tall and big. Hee hee ~ He only eats fried chicken and drinks a lot of Milo. Ohh yes, he likes computer games a lot. Not just computer, but also video games and all sorts of games. Suffice to say, he's a game freak. He will spend most of his time in front of the laptop playing games non stop. Sometimes he will watch some videos. Another thing about him is that, he understands English better than Malay. Weird right ? Well doctors did say that autistic children have gifted talents and my brother's happens to be able to understand and speak English since young. I just love listening to him talking because he speaks in British accent which most Malay cannot. Even I myself are having trouble adjusting my tongue speaking in that accent. How can my brother does it so easily ? Well it's his gift.

Well that's about it about my FAMILY. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy ! Bubyee !

Myself

Good evening. A good way to start this blog. As you read the tittle, you will straight away know what the post is about. So yes, it's about me, about myself.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now, where should I start ? How about my full name ? Well my full name is Nur Ameerah binti Abdul Rahim. Yes, I know. It's a simple name but who am I to complain. My parents like it simple. That's my full name. My nickname however, depends on where I am at the time. Long story short, this happens because each of my parents have different nicknames for me. My Dad calls me Amee, whereas my Mom calls me Mera. Hence the nickname AmeeMera. So where ever I go, sometimes I will ask people to call me Amee, and sometimes Mera. It confuses me too but I like it as it makes me a unique person.

What's next ? My age ? I'm 19 this year, and on March 2nd next year I will turn 20. Many people say I look older than my age. I do agree even though it's heartbreaking but it's the truth. Maybe it's the way I dress or walk or even the way I talk and think about stuff. It doesn't matter, I like who I am now.

I was born in Ipoh, Perak in 1994. I traveled a lot even since I was a baby. This is due to my mom's busy schedule as a student and a part time teacher. So even since I was a baby, I went here and there, staying with my atuk and my opah, then back with my parents and etc. Imagine a month in Segamat, Johor with my atuk, then travel back to Ipoh, Perak to stay with my opah ?
It's pretty tiring but because I was so little and didn't understand anything, I never complained. Haha..

So currently I'm staying in Kajang, Selangor now. It's a pretty decent place. Compare to my previous homes. I used to stay in Melaka and in Negeri Sembilan. After those two places, I stayed in Bangi for a short while. This is what happens when both of your parents are working. But never mind.

Now what's next ? What am I doing now ? I'm still studying. I'm currently a student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. I'm in my second year now and I'm taking Diploma in English. It happens to be I love the language, so that's why I'm enrolling myself in this course. So far so good. Yeahh.. can't complain much.

Moving on. My personality ? Well.. what I can say is that I'm temperamental. 60% temper and 40% mental. Hahaha. No seriously I'm not joking. I do have issues with my temper. I tend to lash out whenever I feel mad or disappointed with something. And that's a big problem with some people. Hey, I didn't ask to be this way. But I promise myself that I'll change a bit and control my anger more. Besides the temper stuff, I'm actually an open-minded person. I don't mind what people want to say, I look at it as people's opinions. So I'm pretty much open about anything.

Well I think that's about it. I don't really know what to type actually. Anyway I'll continue with something else. Bubyee !!!
